It would be inaccurate to present Nysa, Mastaura and Tralleis as one uninterrupted ancient route or a single political whole. Official Aydın sources do, however, show that the cities can be read together through different topographies and transitions in the Büyük Menderes basin. Nysa occupies both sides of a gorge cut by a fast stream at Sultanhisar; Tralleis stands on the plateau north of Aydın; and Mastaura lies near Nazilli, close to the meeting of valleys and an east-west axis.
Nysa's three bridges, gymnasium, library, theatre, agora and council building make visible how a city settled into a valley. For Mastaura, Aydın's Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism describes the Caput Via context running eastward from Miletus and Ephesus via Tralleis and Nysa. That does not mean every part of the route can be followed as one modern visitor trail; it is a historical-geographical frame for considering the cities within regional movement and passage networks.
At Tralleis, the gymnasium remnant known as Three Eyes, together with information on bath, theatre, agora and stadium, opens a different hillside scale of urban life. The connection of the Seikilos inscription with the vicinity of Tralleis adds another layer of memory. A university report on excavations that began at Mastaura in 2022 records exposed exterior support walls, galleries, vaulted corridors and seating. This page does not treat that dated report as current access information or completed conservation; it records only the sourced excavation observation.
The result is not a list of three monuments, but a way of following the different forms taken by water, slope, route, public architecture and research process across the Menderes world inland from the delta.
