Starting from the legendary layers of Troy at the Dardanelles and heading south, you are greeted by the springs of Mount Ida echoing Homer's Iliad, and the basalt crags of the Temple of Athena at Assos overlooking Lesbos.
Further south along the Gulf of Edremit, the vast groves of Ayvalık scent the air with pressed olive oil. The route culminates at the steep theater of Pergamon, where parchment was born and kingdoms looked out across the fertile plains.
